When we created this design, we were thinking of the vast foothills of the Sahara that stretch into Egypt. This is a landscape that is anything but boring: as the wind leaves its mark on the surface of the sand dunes, you can hear the whispering, singing and roaring that occurs as the dry sand trickles down the hills. The towering dunes, constantly changing with the wind, and the colourful spectacle at sunset – we have captured all of this in our kilim.
